job detailsjob summary:The IT Cybersecurity Specialist will work as part of the Vulnerability remediation team where they will continuously identify and remediate security deficiencies on network infrastructure.location: WOBURN, Massachusettsjob type: Contractsalary: $50 - 60 per hourwork hours: 8am to 4pmeducation: Bachelorsresponsibilities:Responsibilities include:
Gain an excellent understanding of the company's physical and logical security systems like web application firewall, endpoint detection and response system, enterprise vulnerability management system, etc.
Perform hardware/software upgrades to and patch existing computer security equipment as needed. Investigate error messages and determines resolution and cause.
Installing patches and/or update configurations to address security deficiencies using Tenable, InTune, Group Policy (GPO), Ivanti, CrowdStrike and logs to locate workstations and identify vulnerabilities
Perform troubleshooting and diagnose issues related to patch installations and InTune
Use provided scripts, tools, and vendor products to troubleshoot, resolve issues, and verify resolution.
Works in collaboration with infrastructure, network, infosec, and engineering experts to drive consistent and secure user computing services for the enterprise.
Review open incidents and requests daily and ensure timely update and resolution details are provided to the end user;
Monitor the progress of vulnerability remediation activities and escalate to leadership when SLAs are at risk of failure due to resolution delays.
Analyze vulnerability scanning results and implement recommendations to mitigate vulnerability backlog. Experience with Tenable or similar vulnerability scanning tool.
Monitor for zero day or widespread exploits to reprioritize and accelerate vulnerability mitigations when necessary.
Required Skills
At least 5 years of hands on experience in implementation and operation of vulnerability management program.
Windows Desktop and Server configuration (Primary - Group Policy, Active Directory, Registry, User Profiles, Event Viewer; Secondary - Hardening, Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit, Boundary controls, SysInternal tools, Windows Event Collection, PowerShell/Python)
Knowledge of a variety of hardware, software and cloud security capabilities and features.
strong technical knowledge of OS platforms such as Windows and UNIX.
strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and frameworks such as MITRE, ATT&CK Framework, and OWASP top 10
Knowledge of current network security threats and impact on enterprise operations.
Good understanding of antivirus, spyware and other malware solutions.
Able to manage SSL certificates and the certificate implementation process.
Preferable with knowledge and management experience of Web Application and Next Generation firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention devices.
Excellent in verbal and written communications & strong presentation skills.
