Our ideal designer will have: Bachelor’s degree in art or design related field, and 1-2 years’ experience and training. Proficiency in CAD using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience with NedGraphics is very much a plus! Common business applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. A strong color, print and pattern sense. A strong ability to create original designs reflecting current trends. This position needs someone who can manage sometimes competing priorities and solve unique problems in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining deadlines that may require deliverables from others. You will need to be very detail oriented, and unafraid to (politely) push to keep projects on schedule. As our new designer, your responsibilities may include: Collaborating with design team to gather market data on key fashion trends, including fabrication, material, color and design. Creating and/or editing repeating patterns and colorways for bedding, home decor and decorative accessories. Creating presentation boards for customers and sales teams. Managing deadlines, ensuring projects and presentations are completed on time. Preparing prints and colors to be sent to mills for production. Communicating with Asia team to track and maintain fabric and sample development. Assisting and attending design meetings, sample reviews, and line reviews. A possibility of traveling to factories and buying shows domestically and internationally. We need a creative Type A someone who is a perfect balance of left and right-brained thinking. With a positive attitude, creative design sense, and strong organizational skills, we’re sure you’ll be a perfect fit for our team! Required soft skills: Organizing oneself meticulously. Independence and self-motivation to stay on top of both regular and long term projects, while prioritizing to manage task-based assignments as needed.
