Venture Community Services, a leading Human Services provider and recognized as an "Employer of Choice" by the Employer Association of the Northeast, currently has a vacancy for a "Nurse Monitor". In this position you'll work a flexible schedule adapted to meet the consultant role of RN. The Nurse Monitor will provide MAP oversight, including audits, medication management and medication reviews as a consultant to other agencies. The position may require working evenings and weekends. This is a salary exempt, Part-time, 20 hrs position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify areas of non-compliance, including medication occurrences and report the findings to the appropriate Director. Retrain and work with staff to achieve MAP compliance.

Maintain and safeguard medication management.

Observe certified staff administering medication on site annually and provide the proper documentation in the role of the Nurse Monitor.

Provide annual medical training and other medical related training.

Review quarterly medication summaries as per the Department of Children and Families (DCF) regulations.

Review behavior plans and perform a medication review annually.

Handle related job duties in compliance with agency's Programmatic Policy Manual.

Other duties as assigned.

MARGINAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide episodic medical care to individuals.

Attend a 'Train the Trainer' to become a MAP instructor and attend the biannual meetings to maintain your instructor status.

Implement the agency mission through service delivery, staff development, and resource acquisition.

Attendance at administrative and other meetings as required.

Provide recommendations to your supervisor regarding ways to improve the current systems.

Observe all Agency policies and procedures.

Maintain confidentiality and positive demeanor while successfully managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Maintain CPR & AED certifications.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to provide training and publicly speak on a variety of health related topics.

Handle all projects with a positive attitude.

Ability to establish rapport with the intellectually/developmentally disabled population, their families, co-workers and service providers.

Ability to provide training in medically related topics.

Organized, dependable and even temperament; good phone manner.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and a working knowledge of office equipment.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of employees.

Must be able to bend, lift, stoop, reach and file.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts by the Board of Registration.

Two years of experience as a registered nurse.

Experience with intellectually/developmentally disabled population preferred.

Must be 21+ years old, have a valid driver's license, daily use of a car and available by telephone for daily contact.
