(WWT) has an opportunity available for Desktop Support Technician Location: Allendale, Michigan or willing to communicate Duration: 6+ MonthsThe Desktop Support Specialist will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and problem resolution of workstation equipment and application software. Will work closely with end users in configuring hardware and software to meet business needs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and installs workstation hardware and software
  • Performing Desktop Migrations at multiple site locations
  • Implements solutions to specific workstation problems
  • Provides information for databases that track hardware inventory and installations
  • Assists infrastructure consultant in advising end users on compatibility issues between corporate desktop standards and hardware/software considered non-standard
  • Assists infrastructure consultant with research and advises end users on technology and any compatibility issues with existing hardware/software
  • Keeps current on technology industry trends or issues and assesses impact on existing workstation configurations and standards
  • Availability to work a flexible work schedule is preferred

Additional InformationThe following knowledge & skills are required:
  • Knowledge of workstation hardware, software, operating systems, communications, protocols, printers, modems, terminals, controllers, etc.
  • Experience with SCCM
  • Experience with migrations
  • Ability to interpret error messages and take appropriate action
  • Knowledge of network configuration and ability to correctly attach equipment to the appropriate network
  • Ability to analyze network problems and initiate corrective action where required and within the scope of knowledge and accountability
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with Internal teams, vendors, workstation end users and support staff
  • Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and procedures and troubleshoot problems that arise
  • Ability to work well with end users and utilize positive customer service skills, especially during tense situations
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems including Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7 and other Microsoft products
  • Ability to implement recovery procedures
