Personalized Investing operates and develops Schwab's most innovative products with a primary goal of delighting our clients while empowering them to meet their financial objectives. We are seeking an outstanding Sr. Manager to lead our talented Site Reliability Engineering team. Our SRE team partners closely with product development teams along with public cloud and on-prem platform teams to achieve highly available and resilient applications. You will be asked to further the team's SRE maturity while balancing the tactical operational needs of our applications. Our development stack consists of Java, .NET Core, Angular, Python, MongoDB, SQL Server, Kafka.

What you are good at

As a Sr. Manager of SRE, you'll lead a highly engaged, top-performing team of reliability engineers who support critical systems and applications in production and work to develop tools, monitors and alerting to proactively identify and remediate production issues. You'll work closely with business partners, development teams, and colleagues across the organization to continuously improve our products, processes, and availability, leveraging your passion for innovative IT solutions and a modern vision of DevOps culture. You will create a powerful vision and empower the team to execute while ruthlessly prioritizing and helping the team eliminate toil.

What you have

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 5+ years progressive experience as a technology-focused people leader.
  • Proven history of cultivating a high performing team; demonstrated abilities in coaching, developing, attracting, engaging, and retaining top technical talent
  • Previous experience with Splunk, Akamai, mPulse, ELK Stack, Thousand Eyes, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), Bitbucket, Bamboo, and ITSM is preferred
  • Demonstrated progressive responsibility supporting highly critical systems and applications with required 24x7 availability
  • Demonstrated experience establishing Service Level Objectives, including the change management necessary to solidify adoption
  • A university degree from a well-respected academic institution; advanced degrees in Information management, Computer Science, Business Administration and/or other professional certifications are a plus

  • Ability to work hands on with team members to inspire and motivate all levels of staff towards both tactical and strategic delivery goals
  • Ability to drive change through influencing partners, managing and enhancing relationships and services provided
  • Outstanding performer, persistent and pro-active leader, detail-oriented, and driven to exceed expectations
  • Skilled communicator and negotiator with exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Colorado Compensation

Target Total Compensation - 135,000 - 220,400
