The Automated Driving Advanced Development team is actively searching for Parking System Development Engineer. As the owner of the Parking, Trailering and Low Speed components within the STELLANTIS ecosystem, you will develop and maintain expertise needed for STELLANTIS to manage ADAS/AD features, you will be responsible for defining the functional requirements, and the performance targets related to Parking, Trailering and Low Speed components. You will also interact closely with a variety of engineering domains in order to be aligned to the requirements necessary to integrate Parking, Trailering and Low Speed components into STELLANTIS prototype and production vehicles. We are looking for a self-starter with good engineering judgment, a solid background in AD/ADAS, parking, and trailering features, and the curiosity/motivation to learn as the technology progresses.

The main job responsibilities will be:

  • Release of technical component specifications
  • Evaluation of technical proposals from components' suppliers
  • Definition of validation test plans
  • Management of the component development plan, ensuring the respect of technical deliverables at the expected due dates.
The activities include:
  • Tracking of the validation activities and the related bug-fixes
  • Definition of countermeasures in case of issues and delays
  • Coordination of HW / SW releases for the component, ensuring the alignment with the validation activities
  • Approval of tests results and related deviations
  • Optimization of the existing design for best performance and minimum required bandwidth
  • Conducting impact analysis and develop requirements for expansion of the existing design to enable increasingly advanced functionality as environmental perception improves
  • Assist with setting architectural design direction enabling scalability and optimization of smart sensing vs. satellite sensing/object level data vs. data in raw forms
  • Leverage existing knowledge of physical-mathematical-statistical models to effectively generate requirements detailing how the design can modify the final environmental perception model based upon the dynamic states of the sensors i.e. sensor is experiencing degraded performance, decompose system function or weigh control decisions more upon sensor
