- Assist in the oversight of the Linux Administration Support team.
- Develop an understanding of the current Linux architecture and configuration, suggest and implement areas for improvement.
- Take ownership of the Linux problem records to perform root cause analysis, develop corrective actions, and follow through with execution and closure.
- Assist in the review and approval of change controls.
- Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Server and its system administration
- Knowledge of Red Hat patching, patch cycles, and execution methods
- Knowledge and ability to navigate VMware virtualization
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities for a complex infrastructure and application environment
- Experience in operational incident management (aka tickets)
- Core competency of infrastructure components such as servers, storage, network, middleware, database, and applications
- 5 years of experience working with Red Hat Linux
- Self-starter and able to work independently without strong supervision
- Experience with SUSE Linux
- Project management experience working on multiple concurrent projects
- Experience in developing documentation for product certifications and proof of concepts
- 5 years of experience working in IT infrastructure
- Ability to read and understand infrastructure and application architectural diagrams
