The Team: Our global creative team consists of a diverse group of User Experience Designers, Interaction Designers, 2D and 3D Visual Designers, Motion Graphic Artist, Modelers and Developers. We collaborate with the interior and exterior design studios, product planning, brand teams, software teams, engineering, and outside suppliers through all stages of the product development cycle. At the core we leverage hardware, software, and strategic partnerships to support the foundational pillars that uniquely make each product meaningful and special. We build bridges between technology and the customer.
Our Goal: Create rich, digital experiences that build a user-centered ecosystem to enhance our brands, and strengthen the relationship with our customers. The Job: As a UI Designer - Design Systems, you will create the core structure, logic, and flow of an entire vehicle infotainment system. In this role you will drive the creation and governance of the design systems our technology is built upon. You'll lead requirements gathering across teams, collaboration with branding UI team, component development and maintenance, interface with developers and continuous testing and adoption of the system across the appropriate development teams.
You will ensure consistency, simplicity and ease of use with logical and well thought out behaviors and actions. You will use your knowledge and passion for design trends, strategic business perspectives, and cutting edge technology to support desired user experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Create a range of deliverables, from wireframes, UI components, to written interaction and documentation
- Formalize our design component library and help establish criteria to govern its use, adoption, and evolution
- Collaborate with interaction designers and visual designers to develop and monitor components/screens
- Documenting processes for how and why to create, use and retire components in our design system, and proactively sharing this knowledge within the team and beyond.
- Leverage systems thinking to identify opportunities for improvements to process and collaboration that ultimately elevate our product and customer experience
- Act as a design evangelist across the organization to communicate and demonstrate the value of design within the product development process
- Create efficient global frameworks, which at the same time offer flexibility for each of our 14 brands
- Create frameworks that capture user requirements, corporate best practices, and feasibility inputs that can be handed to developers to be modeled and tested
