If they are not attached the bid will be declined.Our team is looking for a highly skilled, driven, ambitious data science practitioner with strong programming, machine learning and statistical skills. You will help bring data to life to solve business problems. You will work collaboratively to design analytical solutions that harness internal and external data (including connected vehicle data) and leverage visualizations, predictive analytics, and prescriptive methods, to help the right decision makers make the right decisions at the right time. As a DataScientist on the team, you will collaborate with partners in vehicle connectivity, purchasing, product development, warranty and other Ford functions to define problems, identify data, develop data pipelines, develop machine learning algorithms, leverage operations research techniques, and deploy software solutions to provide actionable insights that deliver measurable ,transformational benefits to Ford. We are especially excited about candidates with prior experience in connected vehicle data and scalable technologies such as Hadoop/Spark.Skills Required:Must have expert hands-on knowledge and proven record of using on the job outside of academia the following tools:
  • Alteryx; Python/PySpark; at least one of QlikView(preferred) or Tableau; Hadoop; R; SQL
  • Explore and analyze both structured and unstructured data. Manipulate high-volume, high-dimensional data from a variety of sources to identify value-generating patterns, anomalies, relationships, and trends, and solve critical roadblocks
  • Query and manipulate data from big data platforms and databases (e.g. Hadoop, Teradata, SQL Server, Oracle)using Hive, SCOOP, Spark, and/or SQL
  • Develop efficient Alteryx workflows, Python and PySpark scripts to perform data extraction, data mining, and data wrangling
  • Master the details of connectivity data, how it is produced, stored, and curated, and what the variables mean in relation to vehicle operation
  • Utilize analytical applications likePython and R and Big Data technologies (Hadoop/ Spark)to identify trends and relationships between different pieces of Ford-owned and third-party data, and draw insightful and actionable conclusions
## Responsibilities: ##
  • Interact with business partners and stakeholders in Vehicle Connectivity, Purchasing, Material Cost, Product Development, Finance to acquire deep understanding of the business problems, processes and data
  • Translate business problems into scalable machine learning models to address real-world challenges
  • Encode analytical models and mathematical abstractions into robust computer programs to obtain timely, meaningful and actionable insight into the data
  • Deliver analytic models using skills such as statistical analysis, machine learning, algorithm design, and model development and refinement in R, Data Robot, Python, and/or Alteryx
  • Design intuitive visual interfaces in Python, QlikView, R, and/or Tableau for users to interact with the data
Experience Required:
  • 2+ years of post-graduate job experience in a DataScientist or similar quantitative role
  • 2+ years of post-graduate hands-on work experience with Python, R, SQL, Qlikview or Tableau, Alteryx, Hadoop, and PySpark
  • 3+years of experience doing statistical analysis using R orPython packages
  • 2+ years of experience developing data workflows using Alteryx
  • 3+ years of experience developing visual dashboards using QlikView (preferred) orTableau
  • 3+ years of experience using SQL and Hadoop for acquiring and transforming data
Education Required:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, IndustrialEngineering, or a related field of study with a Data Science focus
Skills Preferred:
  • Tools: Java, Scala, Hadoop/Spark, Data Robot, SQLServer, Oracle, Teradata, Hive, SCOOP, AgileCentral/Rally, Jira, Git
  • Strong technical mindset; demonstrate a passion for applying state-of-the-art solutions to novel and challenging problems
  • Stay current with advances in emerging technologies and analytic solutions for use in quantitative model development
  • Well-organized, independent and ready to work with minimal supervision
  • Ensure overall quality of the data and solutions throughout the development process; continuously monitor and improve the analytical solutions post-delivery
  • Interpret results, write timely and high-quality work reports, and communicate model insights to business customers and cross-functional teams
Experience Preferred:
  • 3+ year of experience using Spark or PySpark on Hadoop
  • 1+ years of Agile delivery experience and familiarity with backlog management tools (Agile Central Rally or Jira),testing and release/dependency management, agile ceremonies
  • 1+ years of experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Automotive industry experience and knowledge is a big plus
