Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor?s degree in information technology, computer science, or a relevant field or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications ?
  • 7 years of experience in infrastructure design and implementation
  • Amazon Web Services, security or other cloud architect certifications
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux server operating systems
  • Strong knowledge of containers and serverless architecture
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud
  • Operational experience with enterprise scalability, resiliency and high availability
  • Experience with data security, encryption and authentication solutions
  • TCP/IP, security segmentation and firewall knowledge
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and scripting of infrastructure automation (for example, Terraform, Python and PowerShell)
Job SummaryThe Senior Platform Architect is responsible for aligning the best infrastructure technologies with business needs. They research the latest industry trends and promote platforms that maximize stability, scalability, development velocity, automation and security in both the cloud and on premises. They provide architectural guidance to the business and release trains while promoting those same key fundamentals.

The Senior Platform Architect also helps grow other platform architects, promoting new or out-of-the-box technologies and strategies to both the team and the organization as well as driving difficult technology debates into fully aligned, beneficial outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Determine and document best practices for implementing cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code (IAC)
  • Mentor others on best practices, migrating to new platforms and using 100% IAC
  • Champion the protection of client data and a least privileges philosophy
  • Research and test new technologies that deliver business value
  • Review architectural diagrams and cloud strategies with clients
  • Work with information security and compliance teams to ensure proper cloud governance
  • Architect solutions with stability, scalability, velocity, automation and security in mind
  • Contribute heavily to the growth of other architects? nontechnical skills through mentoring and leading by example
  • Drive technologies out that are outside their comfort zone and personal convictions to enhance the experience for clients who have found value in those technologies
  • Lead cross-team meetings through difficult conversations and technical debates with objective analysis and gain alignment between those teams on the best decisions for the business
