IT Architect- Detroit, MI- Long-term Contract (Remote) 4 Key required skills: Health Care Systems Analyst/Solutions Architect experience preferred Working experience and good knowledge of US Health Insurance / Health Care domain with business understanding and hands on experience in IT solutions across different business functions such as Membership, Providers, Groups, Products, Premium Rates, Billing, Commission, Customer Service, Claims, etc. Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, time management and presentation skills with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks. Hands on experience in designing and developing custom IT solutions, working with vendor solution integrations, doing RFPs, project analysis & cost estimations experience and working knowledge of MS Visio. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Analyze the different elements of business, information and technology can be applied to solve a specific problem. Propose a combination of building blocks that provides the best possible solution within the Enterprise. Design a solution for an existing or new problem and support the tasks and activities that are involved with its successful implementation. Oversee all technological risks and make sure that the described solution proves to be consistent while meeting all the necessary requirements. Translate the design concept to IT operations. Provide overall direction, guidance, definition and facilitation for the development of an architecture (current and future state) required to meet business strategies and goals. Advocacy and support of the enterprise IT strategies, identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers to derive useful business context, analysis of the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement, and the development of strategies aligning IT to business. Interface across all business areas, acting as visionaries to proactively assist in defining the direction for future projects. Conceive strategies, solutions, build consensus, and sell/execute solutions. Involved in all aspects of the project life cycle, from the initial kickoff through gathering business requirements, analysis and design, development, testing and production support and user training. Additional responsibilities may include the establishment of the overall architectural viewpoints and the establishment and oversight of organization standards and policies. Architects identify major system interfaces, business capabilities needs, and existing architecture weaknesses and opportunities for systems. Interacts with the Clients, Business partners, Vendors and Technical Resources Translates business requirements into technical requirements Develops, writes and communicates the system design to technical resources Works on multiple highly complex projects/programs/domains that require in-depth knowledge of two or more functional architecture areas such as security, data, or systems. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of experience 5 years of experience in multiple IT areas (data, network, application, systems, etc.) required. 3+ years of health care experience as an architect/designer/analyst/developer. Solution Architecture experience is required (not just data architect/infrastructure architect, enterprise architect, technical architect, etc) Requires advanced level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application design, systems engineering and integration. Experience working with Technical resources Experience working with Business (non-technical) resources MS Office tools experience Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills including the ability to work with both internal and external customers and all levels of the organization Excellent organizational and presentation skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and timelines with minimal supervision Excellent problem solving and conflict management skills including the ability to manage conflict and find mutually acceptable resolutions PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Healthcare insurance industries Knowledge of the business functions.
