- A minimum of 7 yrs on-hands solid experience in leading requirements gathering, design and develop Azure Private Cloud Infrastructure On-Prem. Lead design sessions with various organizational groups such as Security and Network Engineering.
- Cloud management maintenance, and Level 2 & 3 support and planning.
- Should possess technical skills and knowledge of IaaS, and PaaS, platforms such as Azure, VMWare, AWS and applications, and experience is how to most effectively customize these technologies to match client business needs.
- Work with our engineering team to design and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions in accordance with company security guidelines.
- Deploying and debugging cloud applications as needed.
- Lead and develop best practices for larger Cloud Engineer team.
- Mentoring and training teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.
- Employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they snowball into problems.
- Should possess extensive knowledge of APIs to design RESTful services, and integrate them with existing data providers, using JSON or XML as needed.
- Building and designing web services in the cloud.
- Responsible for gathering system requirements working together with application architects and owners.
- Responsible for generating scripts and templates required for the automatic provisioning of resources.
- Build software for the organization's systems and ES as a service offering.
- Responsible for debugging technical issues inside a complex stack involving virtualization, containers, microservices, etc.
- Collaborate with the engineering teams to enable their applications to run on Cloud infrastructure.
- Development knowledge with at least Scala or Java, knowledge of systems like ZooKeeper, Consul etc., familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Pivotal Cloud Foundry Docker, OpenStack, and Public cloud delivery know-how with AWS and/or Azure.
- Understanding of software development, engineering, programming languages and tools; Java, Python, Ruby, .NET/C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PowerShell, CI/CD pipelines, and ability to work with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean Startup, XP).
- Collaborative skills include working with cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Designers, and Business Analysts), so it is vital that they can work in a team-driven environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering; Master's degree a plus.
- Certification in Microsoft Azure a must. Certification desired in AWS Solutions Architect, Cloud Security Certification, and/or OpenStack Administrator Certification a plus. (Other cloud-related certification also a plus.)
- Five years' experience in developing software using languages such as Java, Python, C or Ruby.
- Experience with SOA applications and cloud-based services, preferably Azure.
- Experience working with OpenStack, Linux/UNIX, Rackspace, Docker and Microsoft Azure.
- Three to five years' experience in a Cloud Engineer role or related position.
- Knowledge of web services, API, REST and RPC.
- Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks.
- Database experience, including knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, and related data stores such as Postgres.
- Extensive experience with open-source technology, software development and system engineering.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.
- Interest in Cloud Engineering and its impact on greater business practices.
- Skilled at working in tandem with a team of engineers, or alone as required.
