Minimum Qualifications?
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field and 5 years of progressive experience in a related domain
Preferred Qualifications??
  • 5 years of experience in a technical IT or security role
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to both IT and non-IT engagements
  • Excellent written, verbal, non-verbal, and visual (presentation) communication skills
  • Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Strong understanding or direct experience with IT and security constructs such as network architecture, cloud-based services, OS and server hardening, virtualization, encryption/PKI, storage security, SDLC, and identity management
  • Growth mindset with a strong passion for developing people
  • Demonstrated leadership ability on projects, mentoring, client service
Bonus Qualifications
  • Demonstrated past security leadership experience
  • Experience in a consulting/professional delivery role
  • 3 years in an Architect role
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies
Job SummaryThe Team Leader for Information Security Solution Architects is responsible for building and enabling a vision that allows for effective solution-oriented consulting services for our clients. They invest heavily in building relationships with other security teams, enterprise-wide, to help develop secure solutions and ensure that requirements that reduce risk are being met. They take a 'team first' approach, guiding the removal of obstacles and implementing solutions that enable scale and certainty. This leader is, first and foremost, hyper-focused on the growth and development of our team members.

The Solution Architect Team ensures solutions developed by our clients meet the security requirements set by Rock Central Detroit Information Security. They work closely with IT and non-IT teams to help interpret security standards. While not an implementation team, they work closely with security and IT platform teams to ensure technical solutions account for security requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business and IT leaders to ensure alignment with objectives and policy
  • Create visibility and accountability through trend identification and escalation to senior leaders
  • Contribute strategic ideas and innovative thinking to strengthen the impact of the Rock Central Information Security team
  • Communicate and embody the culture, vision, and direction of the team
  • Work with senior and peer leadership to implement strategic plans for the team
  • Effectively communicate performance, growth, and culture expectations to all team members
  • Identify opportunities and propose solutions to processes and business challenges
  • Analyze layers of security, compensating factors, and overall security posture when making decisions
  • Maintain leadership training, stay updated on industry trends, enhance subject matter expertise and mentor others
