We are Basil and Blooms Gardens, a female owned and operated gardening company serving the Grosse Pointes and surrounding areas and we are looking for gardeners and/or landscapers to join our wonderful team!
The responsibilities of our gardeners include monitoring the health of all plants and greenscapes, feeding plants, careful splitting and re-planting of perennials, light trimming of ornamental trees and shrubs, weeding gardens and keeping green spaces and walkways clear of debris and litter. Ultimately, you will help make sure our customer's gardens are always healthy and beautiful. Our ideal candidate loves working outdoors and has a strong desire to maintain the health and aesthetic quality of the many gardens we have the honor of working within.
Work/life balance is a core tenant of our philosophy and as such, we offer flexible scheduling for those with other family/work obligations. Our work week is Monday through Friday, starting at 8 and finishing when the job is done. There is opportunity within the week for either part-time or full-time employment, based both on the needs of the company and on you, the individual. We do ask that all team members commit to refraining from taking time off in May and June as this is always our busiest time of year.
Responsibilities
Install and maintain seasonal plants
Mulch, edge and weed gardens
Light trimming responsibilities (trees and bushes under 8 feet tall)
Keep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter
Skills
Previous gardening or landscaping experience
Some knowledge of regional plant life
The ability to lift heavy objects
The ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time
A love of the outdoors and plant life
The ability to go from kneeling to standing repeatedly and vice versa
