Location: James, MI Salary: Competitive Description: Our client is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer
Mechanical engineer to aid in the design, production, and operation of machinery. A high-end design, engineering, machining, and fabricating company specializing in custom solutions for military, aerospace, automotive and more.Responsibilities- Stress calculations
- Expertise in design with proficiency in 3D model and drawing creation within CAD (SolidWorks)
- Ability to self-check completed assignments and cross check co-workers completed assignments for fit, accuracy, functionality and manufacturability
- Ability to perform tolerance stack-up analysis
- Ability to interpret and apply proper tolerance features and methods including geometric tolerances
- Work on a multitude of projects at one time and prioritize
- Ability to proficiently use manual inspection equipment (such as calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Preferred 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Extremely well versed in the fundamentals of statics and mechanics of materials
- Knowledge of ERP / MRP systems
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Ability to work at a high level within cross-departmental teams or individually
