VETERINARY TECHNICIAN -INSTRUCTOR - PART-TIME - KALAMAZOO

Job Summary

Veterinary Technician Instructors use their training and practical experience from clinical and/or administrative duties to teach Ross Veterinary Assistant students what they need to succeed in the veterinary field.

What are the main activities of this job?

Primary Instructors teach in the Veterinary Technician classroom a maximum of 12 students, covering clinical skills and administrative skills. The Vet Tech classroom is "hands-on" with small animals in the lab, and sometimes field trips. Class sessions are 6 hours, week days only. Training and support provided in delivering standardized curriculum. This is a part-time position, typically 24-29 hours per week, day and evening schedules available.

Veterinary Technician, Degree with past and current experience as Veterinary Technician, Veterinarian. Veterans welcome. Graduates from all accredited schools welcome.

Work Environment

Clean and bright classrooms with computer/desk and clinical areas, including doctors office. Interact with other instructors and campus staff to assist students.

Requirements

3+ years experience as a Veterinary Technician and formal training from an AVMA accredited institution. Must have passed the National Exam (VTNE). State of MI License required, but not prior to hire. No prior teaching experience required, but you must be comfortable prepping for lecture and delivering information to the class verbally and with traditional teaching tools.
