Now Hiring We are hiring a Production Technician for a pharmaceutical manufacturing company near the Kalamazoo area.

This role as a technician will be responsible for the safe operation of new and existing pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. The positions will be responsible for the equipment operation through start-up, qualification, and potential commercial production. In some cases, successful candidates may also be asked to train additional contractors and/or manage training documentation.

Positions Responsibilities

  • Operations Technicians are responsible for filling injectable drug product into primary containers. Work is performed in strict compliance with manufacturing standards (SOPs) and all regulatory requirements (i.e., GMPs). This job includes the following functions: processing of hazardous and non-hazardous drug products, basic computer skills and physical material handling. Contractors are expected to share best practices with contractors on their shift, and across shifts. General expectations include:
  • Work in a safe manner and report all potential safety issues to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Perform all tasks in strict compliance with operating procedures, best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Dependable - Follows unit / area / plant requirements and guidelines.
  • Willing to assist other production units in order to meet unit and site goals.
  • Maintain training at or above 96%.
  • Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks in support of the Kalamazoo Site objectives.
  • Provide feedback to leadership regarding issues and errors with GMP documentation.
  • Understands basic problem - solving methods.
  • Accountable for activities involved in the production of pharmaceutical drug products.
  • Accountable for accurately completing GMP documentation.

Education and Experience:

  • BA/ Education: High school diploma / general education degree (GED) and 6 months related experience or military experience or an associate degree.
  • Previous experience in Drug Product Manufacturing, Biologic Drug Substance Manufacturing, and/or Chemical Processing highly desired, but not required.
  • Mathematical Skill: Contractor will possess basic mathematical skills in order to perform calculations in batch records.
  • Reasoning Ability: Contractor should possess basic reasoning ability.
  • Physical Demands: Job tasks may include frequent bending, lifting, and twisting motions. Ability to stand upright for several consecutive hours. Absence of any medical restrictions which could restrict completion of all required duties. Additional demands are area specific.
