Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools and utilities. Determines systems software design requirements. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures. This is an individual contributor role that requires the use of judgement in applying professional expertise and is expected to work independently with minimal supervision. Roles typically require a university degree or an extensive amount of practical knowledge gained through experience. Job requires an understanding and application of procedures and concepts of own discipline. The job requires attention to detail in making evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information. This job typically requires a degree or equivalent and a minimum of 2 or more years' experience. This position is responsible for developing, evaluating, and maintaining Manufacturing Test Systems in a live Operations environment. They specialize in software coding and troubleshooting for test systems (TSMS), SCADA Ignition, Perforce, and other applicable systems. They will adhere to quality standards and follow processes and blueprints to meet specifications. They will independently determine and develop approaches to solve a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. They will build productive internal and external working relationships and may periodically provide guidance and train other team members. Responsibilities:
  • Identifies and implements safety/ergonomic improvements as a first priority.
  • Accountable for ensuring assigned processes and process changes are compliant and documented in accordance with Stryker procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Partners with Operations, Materials, Advanced Operations Engineering, Product Engineering and other groups to solve manufacturing, process, coding, and systems issues to drive customer satisfaction
  • May direct work of other team members
  • May act as a project lead within operations engineering
  • Contributes to leading in product innovation by listening and working with others and contributing new ideas.
  • Committed to quality by striving for reliability and quality in our products, continuously searching for ways to enhance performance and meeting all training and documentation criteria.
  • Provides support for a live production environment, including urgent requests for line down situations
  • Design and develop embedded software for real-time systems
  • Define software architecture configurations and evaluate them against requirements
  • Create, optimize, and implement test code, including Labview, Python, Java, SQL. Support SCADA Ignition and Omron software platforms.
  • Design software algorithm alternatives and evaluate them against requirements
