Duration: 1 year As part of a multi-agency support group, this Solutions Architect (SA) position is the specialist responsible for developing, administering and enforcing plans, policies and procedures for system architecture for HRMN Infrastructure (Middleware) and Database support; including the design and implementation of enterprise level middleware, database, hardware and services that are the related to the HRMN Infrastructure (Middleware) and Database support division IT system environments, and which are required for a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). The SA will attend technical analysis sessions for development projects and provide an enterprise and agency-wide viewpoint to the system requirements. The SA will validate architecture designs created for (Agency’s) system development projects and will review and approve architecture designs submitted by third party or purchased software implementation projects. The SA will ensure the architectural design is consistent with the HRMN Infrastructure (Middleware) and Database support division system development environments and will have the authority to approve the design of and changes to architecture components such as common middleware, services, and interface components; and provide the expertise to other technical resources in the creation and maintenance of such components or services. The SA will provide expertise and consultation to all DTMB HRMN Infrastructure (Middleware) and Database support Agency Services system designers and developers. This position will work with the director and managers. This position is also the liaison to all state-wide initiatives related to agency/enterprise architecture and system design.The SA will provide guidance and support to several agencies and internally to all four development teams in both application development sections. The SA will work with and coordinate with the support teams on crossover issues/items. This division currently maintains a variety of applications across multiple environments. The agencies we serve include but are not limited to: DTMB, MCSC, SBO and ORS that have multiple applications and environments. We have multiple mission critical applications. We maintain both public facing and internal applications. Most internally written applications utilize .NET or JAVA. We provide support for several COTS environments. We utilize SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), Oracle Forms and Reports. We maintain both Oracle and SQL databases. We have several legacy platforms that need assessment and plan to bring the technology up to date.This SA will be responsible for leading the effort to replace our legacy applications with standard technologies. Indirect reporting relationship to the Chief Technology Officer through the Enterprise Architecture Division.
