Optimal Medical Staffing & Home Care is a leading provider of nursing care in the home for individuals with traumatic injury, neuromuscular conditions and other medical needs. We are currently seeking a lead nurse for our Lansing/Jackson team. We are accepting applications from both Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).
The lead nurse works in our Lansing office under the direction of our home care supervisors. The base schedule is M-F 8a-5p, and includes call two nights a week and every other weekend. During base hours, the lead nurse is responsible for medication setups, home visits, covering shifts and any other duties within the scope of the nurses license. During call hours, the lead nurse is responsible for covering shifts or doing visits as needed.
Pay is $22/hour for any hours worked M-F between 8a and 6p; $33-45/hour for any other hours, depending on the case; and $100/week on call pay. If the lead nurse works during call hours, base hours are adjusted so the lead nurse never works more than 16 hours in any 24-hour period. Estimated annual income is $76,752 (based on an estimated 20 hours/week at the base rate of $22/hour and 24 hours/week during call hours at an average of $39/hour).
The lead nurse must have excellent clinical and interpersonal skills; must be flexible enough to work during the day and during the night; must have reliable transportation; and must have a record of reliability and punctuality.
