Information Research (IR) provides leading edge information technology (I/T) capability and information resources to meet strategic R&D initiatives. This role will be responsible for day-to-day support of internally utilized applications and software installations within the environment. Knowledge and experience with Web based application installation (both internal and vendor developed), troubleshooting and support experiences are critical. This role will also include end user support, documentation, and idea generation on improvements for our team. Additionally, this work may include infrequent after-hours support.

Key Responsibilities and Job Duties
  • Ensure client systems are fully operational and any loss of service is detected in a timely and efficient manner
  • Respond to application alerts and errors identified by monitoring tools
  • Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve application issues
  • Manage support tickets and incidents
  • Escalate issues to appropriate support team
  • Identify and document application issues
  • Contribute in new and maintain existing knowledge base of support issues
  • Assist in the maintenance of applications (upgrades, patches, etc.)
  • Work closely with other teams and IT service providers in a global team environment
  • Participate in projects by completing assigned tasks
  • Ensure a high level of client satisfaction
  • Occasional night and weekend work required

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in managing and supporting applications.
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field.

  • Experience with installation of applications on various server operating systems.
  • Strong documentation experience.
  • Experience supporting various application types (web, server, etc.)
  • Strong experience with application issue resolution.
