Schap Specialty Machine designs and builds precision test equipment serving a number of industries. Due to growth we want to add a Software Controls Engineer to help with writing the controls code for our PC based testers. Some of the key responsibilities include:
Evaluate customer requirements and testing specifications
Create or modify software programs in Microsoft Visual Basic, C or other .NET software
Test the equipment to verify that it is able to perform the required tests to specification
Create and/or analyze schematics for control circuits for fit and function
Sometimes deliver new testers to customers, train them how to use them
Perform diagnosis on machines not functioning and determine the best repair options
Source specific hardware needed including DAQ cards, control or PID cards, servo controllers, etc. and incorporate them in the final test machine
Aide in the design of new test machines, particularly with the controls system
The ideal candidate will have a BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Entry level new graduates are also encouraged to apply.
