Now interviewing for new live-in caregiver/family support position for a Great family and their 5 special needs children in a new home on Platte River/Bronson Lake near Lake Ann village, Mi (Interlochen address).
LIVING-IN
40 hours a week (average) and on-call. Pay up to 60,000 +-/ year after taxes plus living arrangements which are in a 4-year-old house directly on the Platte River. It is a large single bedroom with attached bath (shared by an additional entrance to bath) and adjacent/attached laundry room with new washer/dryer and counter space, shared use of kitchen and living room with large deck overlooking the river/Lake. Welcome to use family's Kayaks in the Bronson Lake. All shared with one young disabled male person who is described as quiet, charming and clean. All utilities are including along with full suite Satellite T.V., WiFi, and Trash service. Bring your own phone service/groceries. Living arrangements are estimated to cost $1200-1700monthly for comparable housing/amenities in this area. Small Dog and small warm blooded animals ok. No cats. Curb parking.
CANDIDATE
Experienced/Retired/single/couples are welcome. Experience a must but be comfortable taking direction. This is a respectful caring work environment. Must be able to lift 40 lbs and have the stamina to physically move thru out an entire work shift as needed. Will consider either sex and working couples (i.e. one as nanny, one as healthcare provider, etc -must have a year or more experience for caregiving/Nanny work to be considered). Resume required. Applicant must provide 3 non-family references and all person's residing on the property must be willing to submit to drug testing if requested. The ideal candidate does not/will not have custody of any minor children due to this living arrangement and nature of responsibility to this job. EOE
JOB
The candidate would provide support (childcare) to the family to allow them to come and go to events, take a vacation, and engage in extracurricular activities. Candidate will be trained to provide personal care to disabled children, learn about their feeding port and food delivery, respiratory equipment used to monitor, and tracheostomy care, also learn about management for type 1 juvenile diabetes, cleaning, laundry, stocking of supplies, run errands, feed and let small chihuahua out when the family is gone, and driving the children to school/activities.
TERMS
The employer will work with the applicant to build a schedule within the needs the family outlines. No health insurance, paid sick or vacation; However, time off is permitted with advanced notice. There is no set amount to accrue but not to exceed 1 month in a rolling year period.
