Job Description
Support vehicle development activities for powersports vehicles, sports cars, and heavy trucks.
- Calibrate Bosch ESP functions (ABS, Traction Control, Stability Control) to meet Bosch and customer performance targets
- Daily coordination with a multi-disciplined team of engineers to achieve goals / targets.
- Collaborate with HW, SW and Calibration teams working to further develop Chassis Controls systems.
- Establish and maintain a positive relationship with the OEM as an engineering contact.
- Troubleshoot bench testing and/or vehicle issues which can occur during development.
- Monitor, track and drive to completion the technical list of open points.
- Report status of technical and/or commercial topics to Project Management and Department leadership.
- Travel to support development activities and/or project team offsite activities
An ideal candidate will have the following:
- Interest in a career in engineering specifically in vehicle dynamics, software development, or automotive component and system design.
- Desire to perform in-vehicle performance driving.
- Good working knowledge of vehicles.
- Motivated and fast learner of technology.
- Ability to professionally represent Bosch.
- Willing to travel and participate in test sessions if needed.
- Valid drivers license required.
- Experience with test track activities, limit handling of vehicle, andabove average driving capability, experience with ABS, TCS, and ESPtechnologies highly desired.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering i.e. Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Cybernetics, etc.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Academic or industry experience with Stability Control Systems
- Physics and vehicle dynamics experience gained through academic, industry or personal hobby exposure.
Preferred
- 1+ years experience with vehicle and system test and release procedures in automotive or related industry.
- Good understanding of vehicle architecture and chassis control interfaces.
- Vehicle performance driving experience (precise handling at physical limits with a “safety first’ attitude).
- Experience or strong interest in Knowledge of control theory
- Programming skills (e.g. Matlab, C) and experience in simulation methods (e.g. CarMaker, ASCET, )
- Ability to work effectively as part of an international team
- Passionate about cars at a professional level and beyond
- Participation in applicable Formula SAE, Ecocaror similar student organizations
- Advanced driving capability (motorsport, car club, etc.)
