Job Description

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing a large revenue customer Software development project based on the Bosch platform. You will be responsible for leading a large and diverse global team of engineers through development milestones to start of series production, ensuring project KPI's are achieved (on-time, on-spec, on-quality, on-budget/profit, and customer satisfaction) and delivery of planned at each milestone in line with project plan. You will be the key person responsible for successful completion of team deliverables, both from internal resources as well as external sources such as clients, vendors, cross functional support groups etc. This role entails working in close coordination with other Project Managers both locally and in global locations, so team-spirit, communication and collaboration skills will be very relevant and highly valued.

Other attributes and responsibilities include:

- Overall planning of efforts and cost, monitoring, delivery and invoicing of planned content.

- Managing a dynamic project with a large magnitude of change requests, deploying robust change management techniques and keeping the project KPIs on track during changes.

- Managing all commercial aspects of the project (P&L, cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, controlling, reporting and financial risk mitigation measures).

- Creating, maintaining, adapting and publishing overall project plan including financials and resource planning details.

- Applying Agile principles to Requirement Management and SW development processes.

- Driving definition of overall risks and risk mitigation plans, problem solving, and human resource management related to the project.

- Managing schedule/open issues to closure by identifying, prioritizing, communicating and reducing risk through informed decision making processes with appropriate escalation and transparency, and closing out open issues in time.

- Managing complex project tasks by utilizing experiences and limited information to find innovative solutions.

- Making important informed decisions and defending those positions using sound logic and effectively communicating the decision to all stakeholders.

- Utilizing master level communication skills to ensure all team members (internal, clients, vendors, etc.) are properly informed of changes, decisions, or expectations.

- Running internal and customer team meetings to discuss technicalopen items.

- Taking personal ownership of all facets of a project or task.

- Performing stakeholder-analysis as well as to drive communications and escalations in critical situations where required (internally and customer).

- Using previous experience and new knowledge to demonstrate technical and professional competence.

- Being comfortable in a role with high visibility and exposure to all levels of internal and external management, that can lead to growth opportunities inside of Bosch.

Skills:

- Mix of strong commercial project management and technical SW background desired, ideally in combustion engine SW.

- Strong grasp of Project Management fundamentals, tools and processes.

- Good understanding of Bosch PM and SW development processes, tools and standards.

- Strong grasp of Microsoft Office tools, Jira tools, RQ1, DNG, Agile and Scrum methodologies.

- Excellent social competence, cooperation, team-spirit, ability to collaborate and manage conflict effectively.

- Good communication and presentation skills (Team/Customer/Leadership) and ability to communicate effectively with the customer and internal stakeholders.

- Strong initiative, ownership and related results orientation with focus on deliverables.

- Process orientation.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and as a team.

This position involves domestic/international travel of approximately 15% time to support customer meetings and/or project team offsite activities, when regulations allow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or Business required
  • 5+ years relevant experience in successfully delivering full life cycle services or products to market.

Preferred

  • Prior Bosch SW PM experience preferred, combination of other PM and/or strong customer-facing SW development technical background will be considered.
  • Track record of successfully managing customer projects, expertise in application of PM and Sales tools and methods and managing risk, scope, time, quality and profit in customer projects are highly preferred.
  • Relevant Project Management certifications preferred.
