Vehicle Quality Engineer

with our client in their Orion, MI office. This is a 6 month + contract position.

  • Our client is looking for a Vehicle Quality Engineer to help develop and execute a robust production quality system.
  • This is a critical role that will closely interact with teams across the company to ensure new vehicles leaving the plant meet the rigorous quality standards required for self-driving vehicles.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate our current production quality standards and help to build robust quality checks and validation processes both internally and externally
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and technician teams on root cause analysis of issues on new vehicles
  • Track all issues and effectively communicate status to all stakeholders
  • Work with the company and suppliers on corrective action plans and ensure they are implemented

Qualifications:
  • BS in engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ year's relevant experience in a complex, high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with automotive manufacturers and suppliers
  • Experience with root cause analysis best practices
  • Strong, data driven, statistical QC and QA skills
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and engineering disciplines
  • Able to work as a W2 employee of New Journey AI (no corp-to-corp)

Desired:
  • Experience with autonomous vehicle systems
