The Infrastructure as Code Engineer will work with internal and external clients to create and implement enterprise policies, procedures and standards around c onfiguration management of Windows and Linux Server s , VMware and other various platforms. This position will collaborate with a team of engineers and administrators supporting a variety of effor ts in virtualization, containerization , automation, and infrastructure as code.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • The Infrastructure as Code Engineer at UWM must have a deep understanding of various Microsoft, VMware and Linux core applications and technologies. They must also possess the ability to isolate, analyze and resolve technical issues. A large focus for this position will be on how we create and improve automation using industry leading tools and methods.
    • Strong knowledge in Kubernetes and orchestration tooling .
    • Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code principles
    • Strong knowledge in c onfiguration management using industry st andard tools such as Puppet .
    • Ability to automate tasks with PowerShell or o ther scripting languages
    • Define policies, procedures and standards for implementing, maintaining, and automating our infrastructure.
    • Understanding of DevOps principles.
    • Use of source control and change management
    • Schedule installations and upgrades; maintain them in accordance with IT policies
    • Performance enhancements of internal systems using infrastructure as code
    • Provision core application systems following industry best practices
    • Provide regular status reports to stakeholders on tasks and work closely with members of Information Technology to assist with project implementations
    • Recommend and implement improvements in our virtualization platform s
    • Act as final escalation point for server and systems incidents
    • Participate in limited rotating on-call coverage for emergency response s as needed

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Required
  • Proficiency in configuration management and infrastructure as code practices
  • Strong knowledge in PowerShell
  • Experience in s cripting for automation, including third party APIs
  • Ability to learn and grow with new technologies
  • Computer-related degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 or more years' Information Technology experience, with 2 years in Engineering space
  • Working knowledge/understanding of Windows Server and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with enterprise-level Active Directory (Certificates/DHCP/DNS/GPO/etc.)
  • Experience in writing corporate policy, procedure and standards documentation
  • Experience in IT secrets management, including passwords, keys, certificates
  • On-site attendance

Preferred:

  • Git
