We have experienced explosive growth as a leader in the mortgage industry and are looking for Software Developers who are passionate about what they do. As a Software Developer at UWM you will play a key role in creating and advancing our enterprise applications in a fast paced agile environment with a specialization in Apache Kafka administration and support.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Develop extensible enterprise software using cutting-edge technology
  • Installation, configuration and monitoring of new Kafka instances when necessary, and conducting upgrades and patch applications when appropriate
  • Work with Architects, Developers and business clients to collaborate and build industry leading software
  • Development and support of Kafka integrations, including topics, producers, consumers, Schema Registry, Kafka Control Center, KSQL, and streaming applications
  • Promote best practices and patterns in software development

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Required:
  • 2 years of experience in an Apache Kafka environment creating, designing and managing highly available solutions
  • 2 Years of professional work experience using web based technologies (ASP.NET, JavaScript, CSS)
  • Relational database experience (SQL, Oracle)
  • Proficiency in Java, Scala and Kafka Connect
  • Computer-related degree or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with different ingestion methods (.CSV, Flat File, RESTful, JSON)
  • Experience developing enterprise software using MVC, MVVM, or MVP framework
  • Ability to work with limited guidance in a team environment
  • Expert knowledge of object oriented programming
  • Experience administering mission-critical systems
  • This position requires on-site attendance and possible after hours support
  • Computer-related degree or equivalent experience

Preferred:
  • Experience in the mortgage industry
  • Ansible experience is a plus
  • Experience with TFS
  • Experience in an Agile environment
  • Experience unit testing
  • Knowledge of SOLID principles
