Electronics Repair Technician (Bay City)

Essential Duties: Evaluates and repairs a diverse amount of automation electronic equipment primarily used in the manufacturing industry.

Summary: Utilizes correct testing procedures to carryout repairs of industrial electronic equipment down to the component level. Also, plays an essential role in the area of troubleshooting and development of alternative solutions for complex repairs.

Responsibilities: Key electronics repair responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Understands and is able to write/edit Ladder Logic for Fanuc PLCs.

Sets up and tunes various automation manufacturer test carts, including spindle and servo drives.

Builds, tests, trouble-shoots, and repairs a variety of advanced industrial electronic equipment.

Analyzes various manufactures' schematic diagrams.

Troubleshoots and tests electronic components.

Repairs and/or replaces electronic components down to board level, such as: diodes, transistors, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, other printed circuit components, etc.

Verifies repairs using various start-up testing procedures.

Completes paperwork accurately and on a timely basis.

Promotes strong company image with customers and fellow employees.

Observes all safety procedures and uses proper protective gear.

Operates a variety of electronic testing equipment, such as:

DMMs

Oscilloscopes

Huntron testing equipment

Meg-ohm meters

AC/DC volt-ohm-multimeter

Clamp-on ammeters

Frequency generators/signal generators

Qualifications: it is preferred the applicant has more than two years of electronic repair experience and has completed an Associate's Degree in a relevant field of study; other key skills include:

Thoroughly understands surface mount technology, "through hole" component work, and soldering.

Can synthesize complex and diverse information, quickly identifies and resolves electronic problems, and aids in the development of alternative solutions.

Knowledge of AC and DC motors, motor application, variable frequency drives and AC servo system.

Ability to research parts/availability and other technical information on the internet.
