We are assisting our client to hire a licensed Social Worker to fill a permanent position in Southgate, Michigan. This job is working as the crisis screening therapist. The therapist will be responsible for providing clinical assessments of children and adolescents to assist in determining the most appropriate level of care and services in the least restrictive setting. The ideal therapist for this job must possess the ability take a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of clients, staff members, and business partners. A minimum of one year post-degree experience in working with children and their families is required.
Our client's expertise in mental health and wellness, early childhood education, free preschool for low-income families, developmental disabilities services and support, mentoring, and substance abuse has helped the community for the last six decades to support adults and children experiencing mental health difficulties and other challenges.Responsibilities of the Social WorkerProvide a minimum of 15 units of directive service per work week.
Coordinate and communicate all after hour screenings to funding sources and outside agencies.
Complete all required documentation according to established timelines.
Attend and participate in staff meetings.
Follow all protocol and contract requirements of the funding sources and/or agency.
Follow The Guidance Center s professional code of ethics.
Complete twenty-five (25) hours of training on an annual basis specific to the treatment of children and adolescents.
Respond to all calls from The Call Center (TCC) by answering or calling TCC back within five (5) minutes.
37.5 hours of service each work week and include 4 hours of evening appointments after 5:00pm.
Working hours are scheduled 24 hours each day including holidays and weekends.The Crisis Screening Therapist (On-Call) is on-call in one week increments from 5:00 p.m. Monday through 7:00 a.m. the following Monday (including weekends and holidays) based on employee availability. Therapists must be available via cell phone to immediately respond to crisis calls from the county-wide Emergency Telephone Service (ETS) or from the Program Supervisor. Screening assessments are completed in person at emergency rooms throughout Wayne County. Requirements of the Social Worker
6 months LMSW - Required
Experience with juveniles - Required
Outpatient Experience - Required
Masters Degree in the human service field - Required
Registration and/or licensure in the State of Michigan (LLMSW, LMSW, TLLP, LLP, TLPC, and / or LLPC) is also required.
Possess proven assessment skills, experience in working with children and adolescents and be versed in crisis intervention.
A minimum of one year post-degree experience in working with children and their families is required.
Must meet requirements for Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) credential within 120 days of hire. Compensation of the Social Worker
