Description We are seeking a dedicated Sr. Accountant to join our clients team in Troy, Michigan. This role is pivotal to the growth and development of their internal processes. The successful candidate will be deeply involved in cost accounting activities, budget management, and financial planning within their industry. This is an onsite role and at this time offers no medical benefits but 3 weeks PTO and flex time. Responsibilities: Develop and implement cost accounting activities to support financial operations. Create, manage, and adjust budgets as necessary to ensure financial health. Utilize financial models and plans to guide decision-making and strategy. Perform accounting duties, including managing month-end close and posting journal entries and financial statements. Collaborate with external CPA for tax matters. Apply expertise in manufacturing and cost accounting to improve processes. Use knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM), Work in Progress (WIP), and other accounting terms to ensure accurate financial reporting. Reconcile accounts, balance sheets, and handle bank reconciliations. Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries. Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. Prepare financial statements as needed.Requirements Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Sr. Accountant in a manufacturing company. Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, month end close, financial statement prep and bank reconciliations Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries Proficient in Microsoft Excel and month-end close procedures Familiarity with WIP - Work In Progress, Bill of Materials (BOM), Job Cost, and Financial Statement Preparation Must possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines is required Must have a strong work ethic and maintain a high level of professional and ethical conduct.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
