Position Title: Home/Life Manager
Location: Bemidji
Reports to: Elderly married couple
Hours: Most hours will be between 9 am and 2pm, and there will occasionally be work or phone calls
outside of these hours. The days and hours you work are really flexible as long as the job is
getting done.
Pay: This is a permanent part-time position and pays $25/hour. We anticipate this position will be approximately 5-10 hours a week. As we age, and the years pass it may include more hours, we don't know. At this time there will be more hours during the summer and less during the winter.
Description and Details: We are life-long Bemidji residence that are now in our mid 70's and no longer want to (or can) manage a lot of details around our home and our lives. We are looking for someone who wants to work for the next 10+ years or until we die. Some of the work could be done by you, but we expect a lot of this position will be managing vendors to do the work. Our vision for this role includes stopping by our home 2-4 times a week so it's important that you live in or close to Bemidji.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Manage most things around our home:
o Yard - manage our mowing company
o Flowers, seasonal planting and weeding - manage our current helper or find new ones
o Replace light bulbs
o Pressure washing - manage our vendor
o Snow removal and sidewalk shoveling - source vendor and manage
o Boat and dock in and out - manage our vendor
o Cleaning home - manage our cleaning person
o Laundry and ironing - manage our cleaning person
o Leaves in the fall - manage our service
o Drain our sprinkler system and winterize - again manage our vendor
o Firewood restocking
o Small home and yard improvement projects - source vendors, manage project and pay vendors
o Watering lawn and flowers
o Taking out our garbage and hauling to the transfer station
o Storage, moving all of our stuff in and out of storage seasonally
Travel - help us plan and book
Computers and internet - manage our vendor and keep it all working
Light bookkeeping, bill paying and opening mail
Cars and trucks in for service and cleanings
Cooking dinner a couple times a week - could be you or could be outsourced
Exercise - source a trainer that comes to our home 3-5 times a week and insure that we are doing our physical therapy and exercise. Manage and pay this person.
Driving to Mpls for Dr. and hospital visits 6+ times a year
Driving us to AZ 1x a year for a couple winter months (we'd fly you back to Bemidji and then you would fly down and drive us home in March)
