- Works with lead engineer and manufacturing engineering to ensure the manufacturability of the product and takes ownership of any design challenges brought forward.
- Prepares assembly and component drawings for manufacturing.
- Coordinates and actively participates in all activities associated with prototype builds and prototype part procurement.
- Participates in production fixture design and procurement.
- Coordinates tooling quotes and part approval with tooling vendors.
- Closely monitors and participates in prototype builds and pre-production runs to ensure that the final assembly is correct and in accordance with the documented product design.
- Participates in the redesign of existing products in an effort to reduce components or manufacturing cost, improve performance or enhance capabilities of products as assigned.
- Makes recommendations to engineering lead regarding product design as it relates to tooling or manufacturability.
- Drafting and Design Certificate, minimum two year certificate or degree
- 0-3 years of related work experience
- Strong working knowledge of Creo and Windchill
- Understanding of plastic injection molding and tool design
- Test fixture design experience
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Knowledge of the heavy vehicle, off-road, and motorcycle industries a plus
