Our software product pipeline publishes the enriched data of items that are sold on target.com and in all 2,000 Target stores. Our products allow users to create and maintain Items that are going to be sold at Target with close collaboration with merchants, suppliers and intermediaries that facilitate imports, customs etc Our team is a global team that is located in the U.S. and India. Our engineers own the end-to-end product development, adhere to test driven development, leverage continuous integration and deployment. We design and develop applications using Open-source technologies, Java and Kotlin languages, use relational and non-relational databases, message streaming platforms such as Kafka, as well as the latest tools that enable agile development, test driven development, CI/CD, and containerization. Our engineers have a strong team spirit and an eagerness to learn from and contribute to the team.As a Sr. Engineer, you serve as a specialist in the engineering team that supports the product(s). You get numerous opportunities to provide solutions to complex business problems that involves stringent performance and availability requirements. You help develop and gain insight in the application architecture. You can distill an abstract architecture into concrete design and influence the implementation. You show expertise in applying the appropriate software engineering patterns to build robust and scalable systems. You are an expert in programming and apply your skills in improving the stability and scalability of existing products and enhancing the existing products. You have the ability to influence your fellow engineers by proposing software designs and providing feedback on software designs and/or implementation. You show good problem-solving skills and can help the team in triaging operational issues. You leverage your expertise in eliminating repeat occurrences.As a Sr. Engineer, you will design, develop and implement strategies/solutions that will improve the stability, scalability, and availability of mission-critical and highly visible Target applications. You will be provided opportunities to learn and champion new technologies to enhance the applications/enterprise-wide services that run mixed cloud environments. Leverage your solid technical acumen and problem-solving skills to improve the availability of enterprise-wide services that power Target's Omni-channel strategies while advancing Target Tech's reputation.
