Machinist IV - 2nd Shift - $3,000 Sign-On Bonus

The Machinist IV is responsible for the set-up and operation of the CNC Turning and CNC Milling centers, as well as manual mills and lathes. Shop is strictly Aerospace and is low volume/frequency on many of the parts with daily changeovers. Most jobs and 1-20 parts per run. Will use blueprints or design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. Will do own set-up and inspection of each job. Must be independent and have good problem solving skills.This is a second shift position, Monday – Thursday 3pm – 1:30am.Training will be primarily on first shift for the first 1-3 months.Primary Responsibilities:Production MachiningCapable of set-ups, inspections, blue print reading, and production processes.Set up machines to perform operations within its capability by positioning, aligning and securing work, utilizing and adapting appropriate tools.Demonstrate the analytical skills that are necessary for machine adjustments and performing the machining process. Demonstrate proper use of inspection equipment including indicators, micrometers, calipers, and surface plates.Technical Skills:Learn proper usage of machines and tools to build production hardware and to verify accuracy of such hardware.Inspect and certify own work.Ability to apply knowledge learned on one process to other processes without extensive support.Demonstrate proper use of machines and tools.Ability to continuously learn additional technical skills.Ability to read blueprints, sketches and other documents.Demonstrate extensive use of math and computer skills.Equipment Maintenance:Responsible for upkeep of production equipment.Determine equipment maintenance schedule.Responsible for cleaning machines and emptying chips.Add hydraulic and lubrication oil as necessary.Responsible for machine shop equipment, inspection gages and fixturesPreferred Qualifications:Machinist Technical School Certificate/Diploma or 5+ years of CNC Mill/Lathe experience.Mazak Mazatrol experience a plus.Production manufacturing experience is preferred.Basic Qualifications:Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holderMinimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalentAbility to read prints and follow assembly instruction.Must be able to effectively work in an environment requiring repetitive job responsibilities.Ability to focus on safety and quality is extremely important.Must be highly motivated and dedicated to exceed customer expectations.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
