OptumRx, you'll work on an elite team with experts who are guiding our success and writing our future. Learn more by applying today! Primary Responsibilities:- Involvement in the monthly/quarterly 'close' process
- Compile monthly and quarterly reporting activities for OptumRx, including internal management reporting and reporting to UHG and Optum leadership
- Perform account reconciliations and analyses, prepares and reviews journal entries and accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles
- Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
- Develop and lead innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
- Work with teams across multiple businesses in a number of locations and functions
- Assist in accounting and financial integration for acquired entities
- Perform work in a self-directed manner solving complex accounting issues and transactions
- Mentor and collaborate with team members
- Prepare and review documentation in support of external and internal audits
- Demonstrate solid attention to details and effective multi-tasking
- Contribute to team initiatives and reporting needs as requested
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or related field
- 4+ years of Accounting experience
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
- 2+ years of experience of analytic skills working with large data sets
- Proven communication skills with ability to relay financial findings in a clear and concise manner
- 2+ years of experience working with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location

- MBA or CPA
- Healthcare experience
- Experience with Oracle
- Skilled in multi-tasking and prioritizing workloads
- Analyzing and reviewing accounting journal entries
- Detailed and well organized
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Works independently in a self-directed manner
