JOB DESCRIPTION

If you are a Senior or Principal Android Application Engineer professional looking to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! This is a hybrid work opportunity based in our Eden Prairie, MN location.

While working with us, you'll be part of a development team, working on crucial portable device products used in critical industrial infrastructure all over the world. You'll be using the cutting-edge technologies, working with an international team of development and subject matter experts. Your input will be very valuable in all phases of software development cycle - starting from the concepts to design and implementation, through release & maintenance lifecycle phases.

AS AN ANDROID APPLICATION ENGINEER YOU WILL:

Performing activities in all phases of the software development process
Perform technical research, analysis, and proof of concept activities
Develop requirements specifications and system architecture plans
Develop high-level and detailed designs
Implement software, primarily in Kotlin
Provide technical leadership, coordination and support for team members
Plan and execute unit tests and support of system test
Provide input for technical manuals and user documentation as required

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 4+ years of applicable experience
Experience with designing mobile Android applications using Kotlin
Experience implementing applications using Clean Architecture
Knowledge of modern Android architectural pattern MVVM
Legal authorization to work in the United States

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Understanding version control principles using Git and GitFlow
Understanding dependency injection (Dagger Hilt)
Familiarity working with Android NDK, Android SDK, Android Jetpack, Kotlin Coroutines, Gradle, ADB
Experience working with REST APIs
