Our client is looking for an engineer to help with a project moving from Docker to Kubernetes.
Job Title: DevOps Team LeadLocation: Edina, MN (hybrid)Direct HirePay: $130,000 - $150,000 annually DOE (+ possible signing bonus) What you will do as a DevOps/Platform Engineer:- Lead a team of DevOps engineers to define, deploy, and run a DevOps practice facilitating rapid iterative deployments
- Assist in defining the vision for DevOps by partnering with development and infrastructure teams across the organization and contributing to the AGILE and SDLC methodologies
- Lead the efforts to implement the DevOps vision, leading team members by example
- Identify tools and technologies to drive automation and optimization in support of development, testing, and deployment
- Reduce constraints, replace manual or repetitive tasks with automation, enabling faster delivery, and find ways to accelerate technology innovation
- Collaborate with cross-functional team to understand proposed changes, gain alignment with stakeholders, and coordinate appropriate testing and validation.
- Responsible for the health, reliability, stability, and capacity of the environment
- Manage KPIs for the team, including performance, velocity, and availability
- Build and scale fault-tolerant systems and services to support business growth
- Assist in resolving technical debt and minimizing the creation of new technical debt
- Partner with Architecture and IT Security to assist in defining standards and strategy
- Mentor and coach team members, leading by example
- Recommend development opportunities for the team to broaden and enhance their skill sets
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related IT field is required
- 5+ years of experience in software development or IT infrastructure
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps and/or Site Reliability Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in people management (hiring, mentoring, and managing staff)
- Experience with a pipeline-based SDLC CI/CD automation
- Experience working on a scrum team
- Certifications from AWS, Azure, and ITIL are is a plus
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to the executive team and business leaders as well as software developers and engineers
- Demonstrated ability to coach, direct and develop team members
- Ability to facilitate the resolution of conflicting ideas, views and/or perspectives
- Ability to organize multiple priorities and manage the team to achieve deliverables that meet or exceed service level objectives
- Solid understanding of modern DevOps technologies such as GIT, Containers, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
- Experience with infrastructure services like load balancing, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, etc.
- Experience working with fault-tolerant, highly available system design utilizing redundancy and disaster recovery.
- Extensive experience in DevOps engineering, team management, and collaboration
