OB SUMMARY:

Provides support of the Laboratory Information System, both Clinical and Anatomic.Has an understanding of the application functionality, reporting capability, interfacing and integration associated with the LIS.Responsibilities may include application implementation, system integration, system configuration, upgrades/updates, user training, and user access.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages implementation of new test procedures to include:

- Oversee design of new test procedures.

- Build and test new procedures.

- Coordinate CDM requests.

- Coordinate testing with upstream and downstream systems.

- Document and evaluate all testing validation.

- Assign production dates for implementation.

- Ensure change control submitted.

- Migrate new test procedures from certification to production. Develop interface specifications between HIS and LIS by working with vendor to define specifications and with engine group for initial testing of interface configuration.

  • Coordinates testing and validation and troubleshoot problems and document as they arise.

  • Approves validation of testing.

  • Performs all core database additions/modifications as requested, including core tables.

  • Obtains approval for addition/modification, documents all system changes as they are made, and communicate with users.

  • Performs daily support of system by managing daily error logs and making fixes as required.

  • Answers calls from users for problems.

  • Makes fixes, documents, and communicates with users until resolution.

  • Analyzes and implements new software. Documents changes on systems, develops test plans and performs or oversees testing.

  • Troubleshoots problems and document as they arise and approves validation of testing. Monitors Laboratory interfaces, troubleshoots and documents problems as they arise.

  • Troubleshoots and documents problems as they arise. According to system standards, monitors queues weekly and communicate problems to users.

  • Validate interface throughput semiannually.

  • Performs system validation for disaster recovery.Assists in development of policies and procedures for Department of Pathology as they relate to LIS.

  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Combination of Education/Experience to Associate's Degree 3+ years of experience
