About the role: The Software Engineer (Development Operations) is responsible for the deployment and integrity of complex, cutting edge internal and external-facing production and pre-production software environments. The Deployment Operations Engineer will deploy, configure, manage, and monitor critical applications in a fast-paced, customer-facing, cloud-based environment.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Working with internal staff and across teams to support application development and releases by utilizing best practices to improve our Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Processes
  • Working across teams to ensure all deployment processes are documented, repeatable, and stable
  • Providing requirements and feedback to development team regarding application manageability
  • Maintaining and deploying highly-available, fault-tolerant systems at scale.
  • Setting up automated software builds, tests, and deployments
  • Writing automation to streamline the deployment, management, configuration, and performance of company applications
  • Optimizing environment efficiency (cost/maintainability/safety/availability)
  • Implementing and managing software development tools, such as Azure DevOps, GIT, Terraform, Chocolatey, Puppet, and Octopus Deploy
  • Developing integrations between applications and systems, including Rest API development
  • Configuring application logs to ensure system integrity and security
  • Establishing end-to-end monitoring and alerting to maximize and report on system uptime and availability
  • Diagnosing and solving production issues, including advanced troubleshooting of Windows and Linux-based systems
  • Completing tasks and projects in a timely manner
  • Participating in on-call to work off hours and weekends to support critical business applications
  • Other duties as assigned
Required qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years' related experience
  • Strong knowledge developing Powershell scripts, DotNet, or Python
  • Experience working with configuration management tooling or system automation
  • Experiencing deploying, supporting and operating enterprise software applications
  • Experience with web applications running on Windows Server operating systems (IIS)
  • Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing complex system issues
  • Must be available and able to provide support for production systems, respond to emergencies in a timely manner, and provide management with status as appropriate
Preferred qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Linux Administration
  • Familiarity working with Dynamics
  • Strong knowledge of network connectivity and communication protocols including IP, TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP(s), FTP(s)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires proactively defining and managing various tasks and priorities concurrently
  • Must be team-oriented with strong and effective communication skills
