The healthcare industry is changing rapidly with several market dynamics significantly impacting the patient care continuum. Boston Scientific sees this as an exciting opportunity to 'Advance Science for Life' by developing and delivering innovative, insights-based digital solutions that energize Health Care Professionals (HCPs) and patients alike. As a Senior Data Scientist on the Digital Innovations team, you will develop models and algorithms for the WATCHMAN business. You will partner with business stakeholders, product managers, data engineers, and other team members to build data driven solutions for the business. Your intellectual curiosity and ability to synthesize and communicate complex information will make you a highly valued Subject Matter Expert.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Develop machine learning (ML) algorithms for prediction of sales and marketing outcomes
  • Develop ML algorithms across data domains (e.g. images, unstructured data, structure data, and claims)
  • Storytelling - explain the `why and how` of your ML algorithms to stakeholders and team members
  • Research, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding the use of new or existing ML algorithms to the technical teams and the business
  • Conduct hands-on data exploratory analysis and predictive analysis on large data sets
  • Provide recommendation based on analyzed data to solve variety of business problems and enable business strategy
  • Partner with business users, data analysts, and data engineers to deploy and monitor models
  • Stay abreast of new trends in healthcare data and latest data science techniques applicable to business goals
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field of study with a minimum of 2 years of industry experience building and deploying machine learning models OR an advanced degree (master's or doctorate) in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field of study with 2 years of industry experience building and deploying machine learning models
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Python
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with deep learning model building, testing, and deployment in a Python deep learning framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Practical experience in developing and interpreting non-deep learning parametric and non-parametric models
  • Experience using ensemble modeling techniques to combine deep learning and other model types
  • Experience working in an agile software development environment
  • Experience with healthcare algorithms and their implementation/integration into healthcare systems and workflows
  • Experience leading and coaching junior data scientists or teams with data engineering and analysis roles
  • Demonstrated cross-functional teamwork in a technically demanding environment
  • Experience defining business problems and identifying solutions
  • Experience with statistical and ML/AL algorithms and how different parameters impact outcomes
  • Experience articulating findings (statistical and analytical) to stakeholders at varying levels of the organization
