- Design, develop, and support integration and testing of medical devices that include multiple processors, FPGA, instrumentation, and power circuits.
- Build product expertise to respond to questions from cross-functional teams, inform priorities for both development and sustaining activities, identify product improvements that support customer and business goals.
- Participates in design reviews, late-stage engineering activities, and sustaining activities including component sourcing challenges and responding to questions from service and other customer-facing teams.
- Coordinate third party designers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to deliver high quality engineering solutions at an accelerated pace.
- Coaching a driven team of engineers and technicians, ensuring they have the skills, tools, and opportunities needed continuously raise the bar on team performance.
- 5+ years product development in lead roles, preferably in a regulated industry.
- Electrical or Computer Engineering degree. Bachelors required.
- Complex electronics design and implementation experience required.
- Proficiency in PCBA design from concept through manufacturing, including analog, digital, power, and embedded microprocessor and/or FPGA circuitry.
- Excellent hands-on electronics prototyping, debug, verification, and failure analysis skills.
- Proficiency with lab equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum/signal/logic analyzers.
- Skilled in schematic capture, modeling, and simulation tools such as SPICE.
- Medical device experience preferred.
- Power supply design and integration experience a plus, esp. high voltage.
- Electrical safety (IEC 60601-1) and EMI/EMC (60601-1-2) experience a plus.
- Embedded programming experience including MCUs and/or FPGAs (C, C, Verilog/VHDL, etc.)
- Track record of strong cross-functional collaboration, influence without authority, and project management enabling highly effective project teams.
- Proven self-starter who runs towards critical issues, ambiguous requirements, or loosely defined challenges with a demonstrated ability to rally teams to achieve business results.
- Experience with Design for X (X = reliability, manufacturability, service, cost, etc.) or related methodologies to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Hands-on experience managing suppliers and/or contract manufacturers.
- Skilled problem solver, proficient in problem solving methodologies.
