Job Description

This newly created position supports the Risk Manager in the administration of the organization’s property and casualty (P&C) insured and self-insured programs focusing on three key areas of insurance specialty: claims management, policy administration, and safety/ health coordination. An ideal candidate must have strong skills and experience in claims management, with preferred experience in insurance policy administration and safety and health coordination.

  • Claims Management
    • Manage property and casualty claims e.g., validate reserves, handle subrogation, coordinate field inspections of property damage, and assemble requested information for litigated cases.
    • Ensures that all procedural requirements are met for the processing of other-than-work comp claims for proper and timely notice to the insurance broker and insurance carriers.
    • Handle the resolution of first party auto property damage claims to include negotiations and potential subrogation activity.
    • Act as a risk management liaison between human resources and operations on worker’s compensation claims.
    • Help gather and analyze incident data to identify trends and methods to reduce the frequency and severity of losses.
    • Assist in the development of an integrated claims analysis process to share historical and claim trending information with operational teams.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Risk Management, Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance or a related field
    • 5 years of directly related experience in insurance claims adjusting, investigations, litigation and/or risk management
    • Preferred knowledge of insurance agency/broker relations, safety and health coordination, and/or insurance policy administration
    • Preferred background in claims adjusting programs and experience with workers compensation, automobile, property and/or liability claims

    Additional Information

    Skills Crucial to Success in this role:

    • Strong communication and analytical skills.
    • Experience and/or knowledge of:
      • Risk management information systems (RMIS);
      • Workers' compensation, property and liability claim submission and investigation processes;
      • Workers’ compensation and civil statutes, regulations, policies and procedures; and
      • Workplace safety and health, including OSHA, injury prevention strategies, safety and health policies and procedures and safety and health topics.

    HOURS WORKED

    40 hours per week.

    Monday- Friday 8:00AM- 5:00PM (FLEX).
