Staff Accountantto keep our company and clients’ numbers on track with unwavering accuracy. The most successful people will have a natural passion for math, and a strong understanding of the intricacies of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other financial transactions within an organization. He or she will play an enormously important supportive role, keeping our company and clients’ financial outlook bright with precision and proactive measures.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist controller and staff with bank reconciliations, processing inter-company notices, performing accounts payable vendor accruals
  • Assist controller and staff with the monthly close process
  • Assist the cost accountant with inter-company true ups and adjusting entries
  • Prepare month end reconciliations
  • Prepare schedules for year end audit
  • Prepare sales and use tax filings

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Two- year degree in accounting, finance or related field coupled with 4 years accounting experience
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, such as Microsoft Dynamics GP, Peachtree/Sage, Solomon, Management Reporter, FRx and/or Forecaster
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups, Sumif functions and pivot tables
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Be an organized, self-motivated and driven employee, comfortable with communicating problems or concerns.
  • Possess the ability to be consistent, accurate and timely.
  • Have an aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills partnered with a passion for accounting.
  • Show an ability to process information with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to showcase Correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, composition, quality and fluent vocabulary in written form; speaking skills must include clarity, professionalism, and warmth.
  • Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures

WHATS EXCITING ABOUT THIS ROLE:

This new employee can expect to come in after year end so they will be able to have a nice transition into the role learning the whole accounting process from start to finish. With the team being so large this employee has a unique opportunity to learn multiple states/business as well as approaches.

ABOUT THE TEAM:

Team consists of one supervisor and a team of 6 other staff (5 Sr. Accountants and one Cost Analyst). This role is availabledue to growth! This team comes with extensive tenure at the company most being with us for 10+ years. The manger noted that the team is very stable, even keel, independent and a well-oiled machine (all records in good shape).

HOURS WORKED

40 hours per week.

Monday- Friday 8:00AM- 5:00PM (FLEX).
