As a Global Strategic Commodity Manager you will develop and manage the direct material supply base for assigned categories across all Tennant locations globally. In this individual contributor role you will be responsible for developing and executing global category strategies to optimize cost, quality, delivery and inventory goals in support of Tennant Lean Supply objectives. You'll also identify and proactively manage internal/external market and supply risks, drive process and technology innovation to further differentiate Tennant's global leadership position, and continuously improve the overall capacity, capability and velocity of the supply base. Responsibilities Manage a Direct supply category or categories, including strategy development .and. deployment, supplier performance and relationship management, and total cost management and execution. Develop and drive global strategies taking into account internal requirements and limitations as well as current and future external market conditions for the organizations global footprint. Actively manage the direct materials (cost reduction) funnel from ideation and evaluation, to execution and implementation. Manage and continuously improve the Global Strategic Supply Base utilizing Lean Manufacturing Principles/Methodologies and Total Cost Models. Drive Technology improvements that provide more efficient processes for obtaining direct materials Understand business goals and anticipate and mitigate Global Supply related issues that may prevent these goals from being achieved. Establish and maintain relationships with key organizational leaders and stakeholders across multiple regions and functional departments. Capture and report on key performance indicators for Global Strategic Supply - Direct Materials utilizing enterprise data and reporting mechanisms Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Material Management preferred Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field SAP or related ERP experience preferred Experience with materials such as plastics preferred Manufacturing, Distribution and/or Logistics experience preferred Knowledge and exposure to the concepts of Material flow Experience and knowledge working with regulatory issues, commodity markets, and currency Tennant Company is a recognized leader of the cleaning industry.
