Responsibilities:
  • Accurately perform specimen collection (venipunctures)
  • Maintain specimen integrity throughout specimen collection and processing
  • Accurately perform analysis of in-house Hematology, Chemistry and Urinalysis specimens
  • Run Hematology Analyzer (Sysmex)
  • Perform POC (point of care) testing (iSTAT and INR)
  • Performs manual urinalysis
  • Performs other laboratory tests as ordered
  • Process specimens for send-out testing.
  • Reviews orders and documents/verifies results in necessary computer programs (iKnowMed and Orchard)
  • Work with the team to insure compliance with COLA & CLIA regulations
  • Follows all quality control, quality assurance and safety practices
  • Records QC and patient results on appropriate logs, online forms and LIS computer system.
  • Reports all critical results timely and documents with accurate follow-up.
  • Performs proficiency testing quarterly.
  • Performs daily, weekly and monthly instrument maintenance as indicated.
  • Reviews and approves reference laboratory results.
