Job Description

The primary role of the Advanced Analytics Manager is to lead engagements which deliver analytics solutions for NielsenIQ client organizations. This includes delivering insights, recommendations and tools to our clients related to pricing, promotion, distribution and/or merchandising strategies and executional tactics. Associates will primarily focus in one practice area, Revenue Management & Optimization (Revenue Growth Management) or Assortment Optimization & Market Structure (Assortment & Merchandising).

He/she will be responsible for all aspects of executing analytic engagements including conducting analysis of results, simulating client plans, creating deliverable materials, and supporting presentation/training/tool deliveries. This position is off-site and some travel is required.

  • Lead the execution and delivery of analytic engagements to meet clients’ research objectives including
  • Ensure pro-active insights and action-oriented solutions are delivered to the client by being an expert in your practice area with an ability to explain the methodology behind all key analytical consulting to client
  • Manage timelines and priorities both internally and externally, sometimes consisting of moving targets and conflicting deadlines
  • Creatively find ways to enhance the capabilities of our Advanced Analytics team through process improvements, best practices, skills development/coaching or cross-functional initiatives
  • Drive client value through the successful implementation and ongoing usage/integration of analytic solutions

Qualifications

  • Expertise in Manufacturer Sales functions (RGM/Revenue Growth Management, RMO, Category Management, Key Account Analytics, Headquarters Sales, etc.)
  • Strong logic, deductive reasoning, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Skilled communicator, including group presentations
  • Demonstrated mastery in data analysis & application to client business issues
  • Demonstrated strength in maintaining positive client relationships in complex situations & resolving client issues
  • Strong project management skills
  • People management skills to promote a positive work environment and associate skills development
  • Able to work collaboratively with internal & external teams
  • Strong sense of urgency and accountability to drive client outcomes
  • CPG industry knowledge, experience and acumen

Background and Technical Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA or advanced/analytics degree preferred
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in Market Research, Consumer Packaged Goods, Consulting, Analytics, Revenue Management and/or Category Management
  • Strong analytic background and knowledge of statistical or data science methodologies and applications
  • Strong Marketing/Research background
