OVERVIEW:

General Mills is looking for a Marketing Technology Operations Manager to drive the adoption and efficacy of the marketing technology stack. The manager will lead and establish a high-performing, data-driven marketing operation team that maximizes digital consumer engagement and loyalty in collaboration with key stakeholders, while simultaneously delivering operational excellence with speed and quality across the technology stack and partners. The successful candidate will be equally adept at driving cross-functional alignment, end-to-end process optimization and value-based outcomes anchored in business strategies and objectives.

The Marketing Operations Manager will be the hub where the operations of our Marketing Engagement Platform come to life efficiently and with agility to service our ever-evolving business strategies. Relationships are key in this role as you work to establish scalable operational teams and processes as part of an overall Digital Capability ecosystem. Your skills in building an empowered team of analysts, interpreting requirements from stakeholders, identifying dependencies, and keeping teams motivated will be key to achieving results. The Marketing Technology Operations Manager must thrive in a fast-paced environment, skilled at leading complex cross-functional initiatives with diverse stakeholders and is a sharp strategic thinker. This person should see the value of creating inclusive spaces when solving hard problems and will recognize diverse perspectives. This is a highly cross-functional role that partners closely with marketing leaders to ensure that smart strategies are set, initiatives are rigorously prioritized, concrete plans are developed, and that our teams are organized to succeed. This role is integral in driving operational excellence in our marketing organization. The efforts of this role must be largely realized and activated through their empowered team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Liaise and collaborate with marketing teams, technology teams, and other cross-functional partners to determine and evolve marketing technology best practices.
  • Provide internal training, onboarding, & share functional knowledge related to day-to-day management of the marketing technology functionality.
  • Continually assess how our marketing teams use the technologies and find ways to improve the marketer experience and efficiencies.
  • Partner with marketing teams to understand their initiatives and ensure they have the necessary data to execute them.
  • Support the rollout and continuous improvement of the current and future marketing technology that can be globally leveraged by the marketing team.
  • Document marketing processes for common marketing activities and how teams work together.
  • Help remove roadblocks, escalate misalignments, and ensure teams are set up for successful execution.
  • Communicate up, down, and across the organization to ensure transparency, alignment, and advocacy.
  • Identify opportunities to build and improve on strategic marketing, planning, and operations processes to support the Marketing organization, working with relevant cross functional partners within and beyond the immediate team.
  • Identify and structure emerging misalignments and develop solutions (both within team and across organizations).
  • Distill business insights from how we're managing resources across the Marketing Engagement Platform.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to enable informed program decisions such as prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Lead organizational operations such as talent planning, resourcing, and headcount management, restructures, employee experience, and leadership meetings.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations and cross-functional teams on cross-organizational projects and alignment opportunities, including best practice sharing, goaling, and measurement.
  • Manage a team of business analysts and QA professionals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1+ year of leadership experience
  • 7+ years of digital marketing experience including operations, program management and CRM/Marketing technology
  • Proficiency with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other Salesforce products
  • 3+ years of SQL experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field
  • Analytical mindset
  • Experience with standard project management methodologies and leading cross-functional initiatives from concept through deployment
  • Experience working with vendors and managing RFP's preferred
  • Hands-on experience with implementing marketing technology
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with BI and Analytics tools
  • Experience with enterprise and small to mid-level company tools for marketing automation, CRM, ABM, etc.; such as Salesforce and Shopify
  • Good understanding of the importance of data flow, data integrity, and business process efficiency, as well as the potential role technology could play to improve or enhance them
  • Strong skills in project management, organization, attention to detail, and communication
  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate complex, large-scale concepts clearly and simply
  • Experience with successfully leading teams in complex, cross-functional initiatives under deadlines
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and embraces day-to-day flex between strategic thinking and hands-on execution
  • Experience balancing attention to detail with big-picture strategic thinking

The salary range for this position $103,600 - $172,900. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences, performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decision including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
