Sr. Business Systems Analyst

Overview

The Digital Marketing team within the GMI Digital and Technology organization is seeking a technical business analyst who can support and lead initiatives for our recipe content management and DAM (Digital Asset Management) platforms which drive content delivery for key General Mills processes. This role requires a wide variety of knowledge to be gathered including labeling, product, recipe, metadata/taxonomy management, ecommerce, marketing and data. The role requires building relationships with various business functions, vendors and technical teams. You will be responsible for listening, gathering and translating requirements from business needs into technical specs. Strong troubleshooting skills are a must. This role requires someone with a curious and tenacious nature that can clearly articulate technical details into laymen's terms. Key Accountabilities
  • Accountable for supporting General Mills DAM platform (Mojo) and associated integrations
  • Accountable for supporting General Mills Recipe Management System (RMS) and associated integrations
  • Accountable for trouble shooting and providing root cause analysis for responsible systems/processes
  • Provide timely, personal, and efficient response to user problems and inquiries
  • Work within agile product team to develop user stories
  • Apply project management skills by working with large cross-functional teams in development and execution of priorities
  • Manage regular updates on scope, timelines, and changes to business stakeholders
  • Manage taxonomies related to RMS and Mojo platforms
  • Collaboratively define and gather business and technical requirements; translate requirements into technical documents, identifying and eliminating gaps and risks; communicate requirements to technical teams to deliver sound technical solutions to business needs
  • Develop comprehensive use cases for critical application testing; partner with QA team to execute testing plans based on use cases
  • Acquire appropriate knowledge of external platforms to support Mojo and RMS - includes but is not limited to products, labeling systems, metadata/taxonomy, PIM.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in business analyst role (or similar)
  • 2+ years of software development - experience must be within last 3-5 years
  • Working knowledge of APIs and ability to read and understand json and XML
  • Understanding of relational databases
  • Proficient SQL query skills - medium to advanced level
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience gathering, defining, translating and documenting business and technical requirements
  • Proven track record managing and delivering multiple projects concurrently across cross-functional teams/geographies/time zones
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, influencing and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to research, plan, organize, lead and implement new processes or technology
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Efficient time management skills with the ability to act independently (self-starter) and prioritize across multiple deliverables
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills - root cause analysis
  • Understanding of marketing and ecommerce business processes

Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of content and/or content management
  • Basic understanding of metadata/taxonomy management and tagging application
  • Knowledge/skills in Redis/Mongo/Oracle/Google Cloud Platform
The salary range for this position $89,200 - $148,800.
