The Opportunity:

Mattel, Inc., the largest toy company in the world, is seeking a Sr. Sales Rep for the Target omni-channel business. The Sr Sales Rep will support a portion of the Acton Figure and Games brands for Target. Primary responsibilities include, building relationships with the account buyers and facilitating short and long-term growth of the customer in partnership with the Sr Manager. This position will provide the highest level of service to the customer and will work to achieve revenue and profit objectives for Mattel.

The ideal hire must utilize an insight-driven sales approach, be proactive and focus on providing solutions, develop excellent rapport with the customer, prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, effectively communicate with buyers and cross-functional teams, and maintain expert knowledge of their assigned product line.

This position can be based in our Minneapolis Sales office or Field-based. This position will require monthly travel to the Minneapolis sales office (if Field-based) as well as periodic travel to corporate headquarters in CA and NY.

What Your Impact Will Be:

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute Strategic Account Plans in partnership with the Sr Manager, generating revenue and profit margins
  • Assist with promotional planning, execution and documentation in order to secure programs in-store and online
  • Evaluate programs and margin targets utilizing a sales MDF budget to drive sales
  • Liaison with the customer marketing / US marketing teams on unique brand initiatives
  • Responsible for extensive knowledge of the assigned category in order to recommend up-selling and cross-selling opportunities
  • Analyze POS identifying opportunities and trends to leverage incremental shipments
  • Help the team maximize the business with defined Forecasting and Promotional planning systems, and liaise with the customer service and logistics teams to meet and exceed customer’s requirements

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ related sales experience
  • Proven success in direct selling roles and achieving sales goals
  • Thorough understanding of customer service practices and policies
  • Ability to grasp detailed product knowledge, selling policies, promotions, etc.
  • Resilient, optimistic and passion to continually focus and achieve goals
  • Self-initiative and motivation to manage area of responsibility with little supervision
  • Tactfulness and business acumen in interpersonal relations – both internally and externally
  • Strong communication with internal and external partners
  • Experience in Sales, Marketing, Consumer Packaged Goods, or Retail environment a plus
  • Target experience and knowledge of their reporting systems a plus
  • Omni-channel experience a plus
